Joshua Gaylord, LMFT

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I received my master’s degree in human development and Family Studies with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from Colorado State University and received my bachelor’s degree from Western Washington University in Sociology, Psychology, and Anthropology. While in the Pacific Northwest, I spent my time at local non-profits working with children and families who were survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

I have a therapeutic history of working with traumatized youth, couples, and families. I also have extensive experience providing mental health support and coaching to young adults. This work has led me to become involved in the juvenile justice system, develop workshops, and provide trauma education to schools and organizations. I am is also very passionate about working with queer and trans youth.

Outside of being an independent therapist, I am engaged in other types of work that actively inform my approach to therapy:

  • I am a clinical supervisor at Colorado State University.

  • I conduct trauma and resilience assessments for Colorado State University.

  • I’ve served as adjunct faculty for graduate courses in Marriage and Family Therapy.

  • I’ve volunteered at the Larimer County District Attorney’s Office, facilitating groups for their Diversion program.

  • I conduct research and write academic papers related to self-efficacy, child-rearing, and parenting.
